There is disruption to Island Line train services between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin today (Tuesday) due to staff shortages.
have been cancelled today (Tuesday) after a member of train crew became unavailable, with disruption expected until 14:00.
Passengers are being warned that fewer trains are able to run as a result of a member of the train crew becoming unavailable.
The following services have been cancelled:

Additionally, the 13:26 Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin service will start at Ryde St John’s Road instead.
Disruption is expected to continue until 14:00 this afternoon.
To help keep passengers moving, Island Line tickets will be accepted on Southern Vectis Routes 2 and 3 between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin from 10:00. Replacement buses will also run between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head from 10:00.
Same old Isle of Wight story and now the train!
Its everything on the Island that’s just not reliable now.
It is a shocking transport system from getting across the water to getting round the Island.
Who is responsible for transport on and off and around the Island.
Don’t worry, we now have a (draft) Island Transport Plan! It’s worth a read if only to realise just how little of practical value it contains. Still, if you like pretty graphics, it’s brilliant!

surely they can train staff to multi task. It dosen’t take much intelligence to drive up and down a railway line or press your bell to stop the train.
We have plenty of staff available on the island especially tho thousands of scroungers.

Unmanned trains would be more reliable

Get some more local people working for them
Sack the lot and employ staff that actually want to work and then train them up in every isle line post so another can take over when needed
I can’t believe they have no contingency plans for someone phoning in sick, one person off stop’s whole railway from running properly, they need a couple more staff who can cover.
