UPDATED: A motorcyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital this evening (Friday) following a road traffic incident in Shanklin.
Police and paramedics were called to Atherley Road at the junction with Wilton Park Road at around 16:30, where a female motorcyclist has received injuries following a crash with a van.
The road remains closed in both directions due to a oil spill. Island Roads have been requested to attend the scene.
UPDATE: The road has now reopened.
One female is being assessed at St Mary’s Hospital for injuries, thought to be to her leg.
UPDATE SATURDAY: The female casualty has been released from hospital and is now back at home with her family.
