A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with injuries after a collision in central Ryde – which closed a main through road for a time.
It was just before 16:55 that emergency services were alerted to a crash involving a Yamaha YZF 125 motorcycle at the junction of Quarry Road and St John’s Road.
Due to the injuries sustained, cordons were quickly established with St John’s Road closed by Police in both directions.
The bike sustained front-end damage with debris across the pavement, with the rider flung to the ground.
Roads in the area have now reopened, however, following a medical update from doctors at the Accident and Emergency Department of St Mary’s Hospital.
It is thought the second vehicle involved was a white Ford Transit Connect.

3rd motorcycle accident this month
There are too many Numpties riding around
the island with P plates on.
Makes one wonder if the P stands for
taking the P*ss
P plates are for cars.
L plates are for both cars and motorbikes. Motorbikes get their L plate after they’ve passed a CBT (only for a 125cc or a 50cc)
Honestly, you dont even know what you’re talking about.
If you had your way, they would all have “N” plates, N being for NUMPTY.
Hope alright just starting out experience takes along time winter weather doesn’t help.
More bad driving on the Iow
