Westridge Golf Club members raised £740 for the Royal British Legion during Saturday’s (8th November) Remembrance Day Texas Scramble, held in fine playing conditions.
A total of 35 players took part in the event, with 27 tackling the full 18 holes and 8 competing over 9 holes. Excellent scoring reflected the good weather, as Tom Moriarty, Ollie Kearney and Roger Merrifield combined superbly to top the leaderboard with 47 points.
Just a single point behind were Roy Knight, Ian Chatterton and William Gallop, who claimed 2nd place with 46 points on countback from Bob Singh-Bansi, Andy McDowall and Will McDowall.
The event was organised by Co-Club Captain Lorraine Swallow, who thanked everyone for their generosity. Entry fees, donations and a raffle together raised an impressive £740 for the Royal British Legion.
