A traffic order has come into force this morning (Tuesday) with the closure of Middleton in Freshwater following a burst water main.
Middleton has been closed between its junction of Moons Hill to Sheepwash Farm for a distance of 309 meters.
The road closure is to enable Southern Water to carry out repairs to a leaking water main.
The diversion will be via Court Road, Colmar Way Path, Totland Footpath 13, Upper Princes Road, Tennyson Road, Avenue Road, High Street, School Green Road, Brookside Road, Queens Road which will operate in both directions and the diversion route will be signed for the duration of the closure.
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.
The order went in place at 10:00 hours on 7th January 2020 and will be closed for a maximum period of five days or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.
