UPDATED: Police have closed Middle Road near Chessell this afternoon following a road traffic collision.
Paramedics are in attendance at the scene at Tapnell alongside Police and fire crews from Newport and Freshwater.
One person is feared trapped inside their vehicle.
Emergency services were called to the incident near to Tapnell Farm at around 14:00.
The road is closed between Chessell and Willingham Lane. Motorists should avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 16:20 – One male has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital this afternoon after being cut free from his vehicle by the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
3 vehicles have been involved in the incident, including a Vauxhall van.
The road remains closed.
UPDATE @ 16:50 – Middle Road has now reopened in both directions.
