A brand new beach club offering a poolside lounger service, alfresco dining, a cocktail bar, pool parties and a beach bar will bring a Marbella style experience to the sandy shores of Sandown this Summer, it has been announced.
‘Origin’ is being dubbed the UK’s first beach club venue and will be welcoming those seeking a laid back sunny retreat from July this year – just 2 months away. Until now the project has been kept under wraps.
Replacing the former Kings House bar, Origin will boast not only outdoor luxuries but a stunning 24 bedroom hotel, as well as a pair of 1-bed apartments with seaside views.
Marbella beach clubs ooze exclusivity & class and Origin will be no different. Through a combination of chic contemporary design, luxury facilities and befitting partnerships, Origin will provide an experience to be savoured.
Poolside and Sunset parties will provide a place for guests to stay and play, in the company of good music, good food and of course, champagne and cocktails. Origin have partnered with Laurent Perrier to offer their sparkling wine and champagne.
There will be Table/Lounger service poolside where live music will be playing and the Terrace Restaurant will offer both indoor and al fresco dining. If the weather isn’t quite as nice the main bar and lounge inside will accommodate guests.
Furthermore, a mooring will allow those with boats to sail around to the East coast of the Island before dropping anchor and being ferried ashore by the onsite Origin Captain.
The project is being led by Ana Lucia, who has worked in legendary establishments such as Nikki Beach.
A spokesperson for Carlauren Group has said:
“Our vision is to create a unique venue experience on the Isle of Wight for guests joining us from a few hours to many days.
“We’re on a mission to stimulate the senses; combining mouth-watering food & drink with music and entertainment in an environment that leaves you no choice but to relax, enjoy life and reinvigorate your soul”.
The former Ocean hotel next door to Origin is currently undergoing refurbishment and will re-open next year as Ocean House with around 55 bedrooms. Ocean House will be run separately from Origin.
Today’s news is a massive boost for Sandown and comes at a time when major developments are finally progressing in the town.

Bogies all over again.
NAH !! THINK ITS GOING TO BE A BIT MORE UPMARKET THAN THAT…
Yeah I remember that time bogies was a beach club with a pool and loungers…
If you don’t like it stay away! Sandown needs this!
I would love a ticket for the opening night x
I’M SURE THIS WAS ‘EXCLUSIVE NEWS’ MONTHS AGO ?????
Will the bathrooms drain away in this hotel or flood?.???
This sounds good but how many locals are realistically going to be able to afford this, developer/ companies involved, oh and our council, are the only ones who will see any money from this, the town probably won’t as all the d.f.l’s that will be using it will stay in there partying, no need to go out anywhere, they’ve made sure of that.
Bit short sighted, what about the jobs it will create and tourists who will spend in the town and other entrepreneurs will at last find Sandown attractive!!
It’s not really creating jobs when the closure of the kings, and ocean hotels cost more jobs previously
I can only see this being seasonal, it’s not going to be open up to 3 quarters of the year.
The kings provided an all year round place for locals and visitors to use.
Sandown is and has been run down for many years but that’s no premiss for Sandown to remain that way.
I am of the opinion that money attracts money.
And considering the current state of demolition and demise of all the old attractions and the general feel of holiday Ghost town why not support a viable future project for growth…. ♂️
Great, just what is needed, i went to bogies lots of times when i was young.
won’t save Sandown.. biggest dump on the island
You will be surprised what a change this could make!
Has to start somewhere, people are usually complaining that no one ever spends any money on Sandown, can’t win
Wow looks fantastic
Sandie needs this to bring it up to date.
Excellent news . Can’t wait to see the finished project
This sounds amazing well needed to up date Sandown Town is a must let’s hope it looks as great as it sounds yippy
Any where east of Newport is a dump!!
Armpit of the island!
It won’t work that’s for sure!!
Better than inbred west
I’m sorry?? East of Newport? So you’re telling me that Newport is a beautiful and culturally important spot on the Islands map?
Aah. You’re from Freshwater? Gimme six
You cant polish a turd wait till end of October then it will be 2 for one
Remember O.T.O in Ryde it only opens now .
When yes When.
Good to see People who have the vision to see the potential of Sandown, investing in the town. Fresh ideas and investment just what is needed.
Can’t polish a turd!!!
Great news! A definite step in the right direction for Sandown. Need this and other investment projects to give Sandown the regeneration boost it has needed for some years!
Fabulous news. So good to see the regeneration of Sandown starting to take place. This will bring jobs for locals and tourism to the town which in turn should then support other local businesses. This is just what Sandown needs. Can’t wait for it to open.
And the negative people who seem to be concerned with moaning about this before it’s even up and running – please feel free to stay away! I’m sure they won’t want “your type” in there upsetting their happier-cocktail-sipping clientele:-)
I notice One of the developers worked at Nikki Beach. Nikki beach was an idea from an American man who lost his daughter in a car crash. The resorts are meant to attract the world’s beautiful people. Perhaps not,I go to Nikki’s beach on a regular basis. If the concept is the same it will be quite expensive. Good food, wine and luxury amenities. The patrons will be affluent and yes many DFLS. But from my experience well behaved with a good disposable income. The only draw back is the weather but the investors know this. It will create jobs and help with the Isle of Wight image.
Good luck to them with a sunset in Sandown? Do these people know anything about Sandown? After the initial novelty value wears off, I doubt this place will make any money, after all, if I want the “Marbella Vibes” I would go to Marbella, probably work out cheaper and I would get guaranteed sunshine.
There was nothing wrong with the Kings as it was, last summer was great but I think these developers may have got over excited.
I think you are living in fantasy land, there is no way sandown is anything like marbella
It seems that they only cater for the over 55’s, looking at their other resorts. Time share too. I doubt that the island will benefit greatly other than the minimum wage staff employed. The majority of the money will go offshore and our already ageing population will only increase. Funny how the article neglects to mention the exclusivity.
No they don’t cater only for over 55’s, they are open for everyone and are finally injecting money to this place so please be at least a bit positive and don’t spread lies, that’s the minimum they deserve.
Excellent news all good for our fabulous Island
Great for Sandown. The town needs a boost with far to many hotels& Bars closing. With the new Premier and chef & Brewer coming the sea front will be a fresher looking place
