33-year-old Norbert Scawomir Haczyk has been handed 9 penalty points on his driving licence following an incident in Ryde last year, in which he overturned his car and ran away.
Haczyk appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Friday where he was found guilty of driving without due care and attention – a charge he denied. He did however plead guilty to failing to stop at the scene of an accident and causing a vehicle to be left in a dangerous position.
It comes after a crash on Smallbrook Lane on 27th March 2020 – just days into the first national lockdown. The National Police Air Service helicopter was drafted in to help officers locate Norbert Haczyk, but he was found before the helicopter could arrive.
Norbert, of The Strand in Ryde, was fined £833 and ordered to pay £300 costs with an £83 surcharge in relation to failing to stop.
Easy for you to say.
These Caulkheads ?
Makes you wonder why he ran away if he was legal.
It’s worth noting that the large number of tree stumps which are left beside the Islands roads after tree removal works are a real danger and should be removed before someone is killed.
Beautiful British name!
Dont be silly, Its an old Isle of Wighty Name

It is a simple thing to cure,2year ban for any one who leaves the scene and a years ban for any registered keeper whowill not tell the police who the driver vas .makeing the car the owners responsibility until proof of scraping

A lot of east european people that come on the island think they are above the law
Don’t be a moron. They are the ones doing all the work because all the lazy island born layabouts want to do is claim benefits and smoke dope in the local playing fields.
There’s a lot of truth what your saying, as they say, the truth hurts…
However, this driver should not be driving until cleared from a sycriatric report, like most island drivers…
