A man was rushed to hospital under Police escort following an incident at an address in Ryde yesterday afternoon (Monday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says the force was called at 17:16 in relation to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address on St Thomas’ Street, near the junction with Esplanade.
It wasn’t until just before 18:00 that a wave of emergency vehicles arrived on scene, including a fire appliance from Ryde and a critical care paramedic.
Police forced entry to an address after initially mistakenly putting in the wrong front door.
Detectives from Newport CID then arrived on scene a short while later.
By 18:50, the man was brought out of the property on a stretcher and placed into an ambulance before being rushed off to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport around 20 minutes later.

“mistakenly putting in the wrong front door.” Well done lads, splendid effort.
