MAN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER TREE FALL

IMG_5773.JPGA man has been rushed to hospital by paramedics this evening (Monday) after falling from a tree and landing down an embankment in Ventnor.

The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to an area of land behind The Island Free School on Leeson Road shortly after 17:00, however soon discovered they were unable to safety move the casualty from down a steep embankment.

The assistance of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was requested, with two appliances from Ventnor and Newport plus a support van mobilised to the scene.

Firefighters have assisted to move the casualty, who has been rushed to St Mary’s Hospital on blue lights. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
