A Cowes man has been charged with possessing a knife following a fight in Newport over the summer.
At around 01:10 on 17th August, Police responded to reports of a fight on the High Street. It’s alleged that a man was assaulted during this incident.
Officers arrested 2 men at the scene, 1 of which has since been released with no further action.
The second man, 25-year-old Joshua Freeley, of Mill Hill Road in Cowes, has now been charged with possessing a knife in a public place and assault by beating It follows a lengthy investigation by Hampshire Constabulary.
Freeley has been bailed to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 30th November.
