A 33-year-old man has been charged with a drink driving offence following an incident in Ventnor on Friday (30th July).
Sam Daniel Devine, of Merstone Lane, Arreton, is accused of driving a motor vehicle with alcohol levels above the legal limit.
As previously reported by Island Echo, officers responded to reports of a collision and a vehicle subsequently abandoned in the middle of the road in Ventnor. Units conducted a search in the areas of Zig Zag Road and Ocean View Road in a bid to locate the driver.
A man was later arrested on suspicion of a drink driving offence.
The 33-year-old will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court later this month.
Luckily he hit railings and not a pedestrian….idiot
