UPDATED: A 33-year-old man has been arrested by Police on suspicion of child abduction on the Isle of Wight following an appeal to locate a missing 15-year-old girl.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police last night issued an urgent appeal for information to locate 15-year-old Rebecca McLean who had gone missing from Southampton on Friday.
The teen was last spotted in Ryde on Saturday with 33-year-old Michael Britten, who she lived in the same house with after moving out of her family home two years ago.
It is understood social services were looking to move Rebecca to new accommodation.
Police have this morning (Monday) confirmed that a 33-year-old has been arrested in relation to child abduction.
Rebecca has been found safe and well.
UPDATE TUESDAY: The 33-year-old man arrested yesterday has been released on Police bail and is due to return to a police station on 7th October, a spokesperson has confirmed.
