Popular Island entertainer and magician Greg Chapman has released his first 8-part magic series: Greg Chapman’s Magic Show.
The whole series was set on the Island, with filming focused on the Freshwater Memorial Hall and in a historic carriage at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. The series features cameo appearances from a number of Island residents.
Greg describes his inspiration for the series’ style as somewhere between ‘the Golden Age of Victorian Magi and Paul Daniel’, who Greg grew up watching on TV. The magic ranges from visual comedy magic to mindreading and was designed with the hope that people of all ages will watch it. Hopefully, families will gather around to enjoy the series together as they do at Greg’s live shows.
Although he had never planned to release a magic series, Greg ended up performing a lot of virtual shows on camera throughout the pandemic. He then decided to transfer the skills he had learned working with the camera into this series to share some magic far and wide!
