UPDATED: A lorry and a car have collided at Morton Common, Sandown this lunchtime (Tuesday).
Police are in attendance at the scene at junction of Perowne Way and Avenue Road, underneath the railway bridge. They were alerted to the incident at around 12:30.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, although Yaverland is closed to motorists for roadworks. Traffic is heavy in all directions.
UPDATE @ 13:03 – The scene has now been cleared into the adjoining Perowne Way.
Tnankfully, no body appears to have been injured in the incident which has involved a Hunts Food Service lorry and a white Lexus.
Traffic is returning to normal levels in the area.
