Deb Harris of Trumor Feeds in Newport has been awarded the British Horse Society’s Isle of Wight Equestrian Hero Award for 2021.
Debs is a lifelong equestrian who took over Trumor Feeds on Forest Road, Newport in 1997.
A spokesperson for The British Horse Society – South Region has said:
“With her quick wit, ready laugh and generosity with her time, advice and arena, Debs has always made a hugely valuable contribution to the island’s equestrian community.
“As she says ‘We’ve had lots of fun!'”
On receiving her award, Debs mentioned how much the late David Corney, the first-ever winner of the BHS Isle of Wight Equestrian Hero Award, had helped her over the years and said she felt honoured to follow in his footsteps.
A number of Island volunteers were on hand to present the surprise award to Debs.
