Newport-based Lifeline Fire & Security is leading the way in assisting schools, factories and offices across the Isle of Wight to return to work using the latest temperature screening CCTV technology.
Temperature screening CCTV is fast emerging as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The state-of-the-art thermal image processing technology is used to detect elevated skin surface temperatures through cameras placed at entrances to facilities, identifying those potentially at risk both individually or in a group.
This latest generation of systems cannot only detect elevated temperature but also whether a face mask is present or not, ensuring compliance where required in high-risk areas. The latest AI technology also works to ignore false reads such as hot drinks and changes in ambient temperature.
Solutions can be fixed, portable, wall-mounted or handheld.
Mark Lee, Managing Director of Lifeline Fire & Security, says:
“We have held back from marketing this technology for the past few weeks, as we considered it a little insensitive to promote during lockdown. However, the time has come where people are beginning to return to places of employment and back into education, where this level of solution will help to secure locations and reduce potential further outbreaks.”
The information gained through installed systems provides built-in algorithms with the essential data from which ‘real-time’ information and reporting can be generated for premises to not only prevent transmission but plan effectively to maintain a COVID-19 free environment for all.
As the Island’s only HIK Vision approved solutions provider, Lifeline are working hard to ensure the Island stays safe and once again leads the way in the use of technology to keep people safe.

Oh well done on expoiting this little pearl before anyone else gets there.
There is sh-loads of £££wonga to be made out of this Covid panic. And more than a few gullible firms ready to throw their money at such pseudo systems of dubious real worth.
If it were the 70s we would be having crstal therapy or pyramid shaped entrances to walk through.
Quick Mark, get to the IWC – they’ll chuck buckets at this, despite most of their ‘work’force working from home (well the beaches are a little windy today)
Your a twat.
So you find yourself out of work and are offered a job by Lifeline selling or installing this stuff. Are you going to turn it down. If private company’s have the money to buy this then why shouldn’t
they.
An ethical person might turn this down, on face value anyway.
Roughly 40% of people are asymptomatic – this is like trying to fix a leak by covering half a hole.
Chewing gum works well
big brother ?
the new normal ?
Is it really coming to this? Social distancing and common sense – fair enough until things settle down. But start implementing thermal sensing cameras and face mask detectors….come on people. Where will it stop?
I can see a certain type of people lapping this up, drooling over the ‘latest’ high tech coronavirus weapons…. and unfortunately it will likely be the budgets of taxpayer funded public authorities who will buy all this snake oil.
Can it test for a consistent new cough, headaches, aching joints, sneezing or all the other symptoms of covid?
An elevated temperature is just 1 of the symptoms and not everyone has the temperature.
So …… it will only capture those few that do have the elevated temperature, not an ideal device, but a start if that’s what the company wants and can afford it.
Mind you, when i wear a face mask, the temperature of my face increases ……. hmmmmm
I hope the company doesn’t get one or i will be sent home every time i try to get to work.
A lot more to come, people wouldn’t listen 🙂
