A man and a woman have been led to safety by HM Coastguard and lifeboat crew members from Bembridge RNLI this lunchtime (Thursday).
Bembridge’s Inshore Lifeboat was tasked to launch at just before 13:20 over fears 2 people had become cut off by the incoming tide at Whitecliff Bay, near to Culver Down.
The lifeboat was quickly on scene and having located the casualties at the foot of Culver Cliff, a lifeboat crew member was placed ashore to guide them over the rocks and to safety.
Coastguard Officers from Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team then rendezvoused with the pair, resulting in Bembridge RNLI being stood down from the incident by 13:50.
No one has been injured.
If you spot someone in difficulty at sea or on the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
