A new, life-saving defibrillator has been successfully installed at The Royal Hotel in Ventnor.
Recent fundraising by the hotel team has led to the purchase of the defib and external storage box. This means that the device is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by means of an access code obtained when calling 999.
The Royal Hotel have thanked local business owner Charlotte Back and her team at Scotts Hair Salon in Ventnor, who donated the final £500 required to reach the fundraising target of £1,600.
Dr Greg Bailey, Director at The Royal Hotel, has said:
“In the event of cardiac arrest, the sooner good quality CPR and cardioversion begins the higher chance of survival.
“With our professional team who are first aid trained, along with this defibrillator, means our guests and the local community now have the chance to access immediate treatment in the event of cardiac arrest.”
