Firefighters are responding to a reported fire within a laundry room at The Woodvale in Gurnard this evening (Wednesday).
At least 4 appliances – 2 from Newport and 2 from Ryde – are on scene at Prince’s Esplanade, alongside a duty officer.
Island Echo is told that guests have been evacuated as a result of a fire breaking out within a laundry room.
The incident began just before 17:35.
UPDATE @ 19:09 – It has been confirmed that the fire was out upon arrival of fire crews.
The situation has been resolved and The Woodvale has reopened to all customers.
Good job there wasn’t a real large fire. 4 engines….
