UPDATED:Firefighters from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have forced entry into a smoke-filled cafe premises in Sandown this afternoon (Monday).
A lasagna left cooking in a oven at Clancy’s Coffee House has been removed from the building by a breathing apparatus wearing crew.
1 appliance from Ryde was mobilised to the scene on Albert Road at 16:46 after fire alarms started sounding.
The building is currently being ventilated using PPV and the burnt food dowsed with a hose reel.
The road remains open, as does the High Street.
UPDATE @ 17:55 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have now left the scene.
