UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a small kitchen fire in Bembridge tonight (Saturday).
2 appliances from Bembridge and Ryde were called to the residential address on Egerton Road at just before 22:45.
Island Echo understands a pan left on the cooker top has sparked the emergency response.
2 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have entered the property and brought the offending item outside, preventing the fire from spreading.
Although the Ryde appliance has now stood down from the incident, the village’s fire crew remain in attendance ventilating the property.
The homeowners are yet to return to the property having been out at the time of the incident.
UPDATE @ 23:56 – The homeowners have now returned home and the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are standing down from the incident.
