The Mayor of Sandown has presented Kevin Barclay-Jay, landlord The Tap Public House, with a special certificate to celebrate 10 years in business.
Councillor Gary Young, as well as the 6 Sandown Mayors since 2010, signed the special certificate in recognition of Kevin’s tenure at The Tap on Avenue Road.
Cllr Young said:
“Everyone knows how difficult it is for businesses at the current time, and Kevin has worked tirelessly to develop the Tap, as well as contribute to the wider community.
“Kevin is a tremendous advocate for the Town, and how it can be improved within limited resources, and he has supported countless community groups, such as Sandown FC; and we greatly value what he has done and, hopefully, will continue to do for the next 10 years and beyond”.
A grant has been submitted to develop a historic walk around the town, as well plans to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day in May.
