Wight Tri was out in full force for the 2025 Fast Twitch Triathlon in Southampton, joined by some determined members of Vectis Academy on Sunday 27th April.
The Isle of Wight athletes showed up and showed off across the 400-metre pool swim, 21km cycle around the beautiful New Forest and 5km run along Dibden Purlieu.
For the women’s division, Wight Tri’s Jan Fletcher blazed through the course with a jaw-dropping finish of 1:11:02 securing 1st place. Close on her heels was Vectis Academy’s Hattie Locke with a well-deserved third place at 1:14:28.
On the men’s side, Chris Till wasn’t going to let a little thing like an ankle injury slow him down. Clocking in at a rapid 58:12, he secured 2nd place, missing the top spot by a mere 11 seconds.
There were also some exceptional age related category places for Jack Elton-Walters, Arielle Elton-Walters, Kaylee Gauntlett, Liz Dunlop, Matt Burgess and Claire Squirrell.
