Freshwater para-badminton athlete Jack Isaacs has reached the international stage, ranking 55th in Men’s Singles and 54th in Men’s Doubles at the European Championships in Istanbul.
Freshwater Parish Council Clerk Kirsty Gibson said:
“Jack’s success is inspiring not only for our community but especially for the young players he mentors each week. Supporting his journey is something the Parish Council is extremely proud of, and we look forward to seeing his continued progress on the international para-badminton stage.”

Jack’s trip was supported by a grant from Freshwater Parish Council, helping him compete internationally and earn ranking points.
He also claimed double bronze at the UK Para Championships, partnering with William Smith in Men’s Doubles and earning a podium place in Men’s Singles.
Jack has strong Island sporting roots, having played ice hockey, cricket and badminton at county level. He represents both the Isle of Wight and Freshwater Badminton Club.
He got into para-badminton last year after being spotted by Badminton England’s Para Pathways team. Since then, he has achieved strong national results and earned invitations to England Paralympic Pathways training camps.
Every week, Jack gives back by coaching young players in Freshwater, working alongside his grandfather Tony Isaacs to develop skills and encourage participation.
