Local teenager Emily Radford, who currently holds the title of International Junior Miss Isle of Wight Teen, will be competing later this month for her dream title of International Junior Miss United Kingdom Teen.
If she is crowned champion, 18-year-old Emily will fly off to Orlando in Florida to represent the UK at the international finals.
International Junior Miss UK is a pageant organised to encourage the positive achievements of young ladies aged 4 to 24.
Emily says:
“I am excited to be competing for this system. I’m working hard towards the crown and raising money for a charity called Young Epilepsy. I’m raising awareness for different types of epilepsy and trying to break the stereotypes surrounding this life changing condition.
“Competing in pageantry has changed my life and I’ve learned some amazing life skills, that I’ll never forget.”
Emily will face a judges panel on 20th February at the Civic Centre in Trowbridge. She will partake in an interview with all the judges where they will judge her personality and find out what she has done on her journey to the crown. Emily will then hit the stage in a fun fashion round and an evening wear round.
Over the past 5 years of competing in pageantry, Emily has raised just under £4,000 for charity and has donated gifts and clothes to organisations on the Isle of Wight. In the past 4 years, Emily has competed in Miss Teen Great Britain and has placed top 10 in each one, even winning the title of Miss Photogenic.

Maybe we should judge people on their contribution to the community rather than just how they look.

if you see she says she’s raised money for charity and is raising awareness for things, and is also judged on it…. maybe read it fred
