An Isle of Wight mum living with Stage 4 breast cancer has completed a gruelling 90km cycle challenge in Scotland, raising £1,500 for Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.
Victoria Coles took part in the Tour de 4 last weekend – a charity event launched by Sir Chris Hoy following his own Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. The cycling challenge aims to change perceptions of living with cancer and raise £1 million for UK cancer charities.
Victoria, who was diagnosed in 2022 at the age of 32 shortly after the birth of her daughter, completed the demanding route across the Scottish Highlands as a personal challenge and to support the charity that has helped her and her family.
Victoria Coles has said:
“As soon as I heard about the Tour de 4, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. It was one of the toughest physical challenges I’ve ever faced, with typical Scottish rain throughout but every kilometre was worth it.
“LFBC has been there for me and my family from day one, and completing this ride and raising funds is my way of giving something back to the charity that continues to support us and so many others.”
The course featured steep climbs including the Tak Ma Doon, but Victoria pushed through with determination, encouraged by supporters and the impact the funds would make.
The £1,500 raised will help Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer continue to provide essential services, equipment and emotional support for women and families affected by breast cancer.
Victoria Coles added:
“I want to thank everyone who donated and cheered me on – your encouragement gave me the strength to keep going. This was about more than just the ride; it was about hope, resilience and giving back.
“Stage 4 cancer life isn’t easy to navigate with treatments and side effects, but it won’t stop me.”
More than £2 million has now been raised through the inaugural Tour de 4. Victoria’s fundraising page remains open at:
