The Isle of Wight Indoor Bowls Club came out convincing winners in the friendly game against the last of this season’s Island opposition when they defeated Totland Bowling Club by 167 shots to 77.
The club were successful on each of the 6 rinks. The rinks skipped by Carol Jones and John Hutchinson both enjoyed conclusive wins by 39 shots to 9 and by 34 shots to 9 respectively.
There were also good wins for quartets skipped by Colin Day, Roy Jemson and Dennis Mulhern. The rink skipped by Mark Morris trailed Bertie Everson’s rink by 7 shots with only 5 ends to play, but finished strongly to run out 22 shots to 18 victors.
The finals of the club knockout competitions are being played from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th March…
