Isle of Wight coach Andy Woodward has been recognised by the English Cricket Board as ‘Coach of the Year’.
Andy was nominated for the prestigious award for his work in developing players’ cricketing skills during COVID-19 lockdowns.
The Isle of Wight Cricket Board wrote:
“Isle of Wight cricket is super proud that our own Head of Performance & EPP Head Coach Andy Woodward has been recognised by the ECB as a “Coach of the Year” for his work throughout the lockdowns of 2020/2021.
“Through lockdown Andy put together the Isle of Wight Cricket Challenge for players to do whilst at home. This was aired on You Tube. Players were given different drills to do at home. Equipment was also lent out to individuals if they required it. It was a great success and extremely popular with Island players and those from further afield as well.”
“Many congratulations Andy and thank you so much for all that you do for Island Cricket and our young players!”
