
Ventnor 1st XI won by 3 wickets with 4 overs to spare at Pompey on Saturday (19th August).
After losing the toss and being put into bat, Portsmouth put on 242 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. A 91-run 1st wicket partnership between captain Ben Duggan (52) and fellow opener Jack Marston (37) saw the home side off to a flyer before Marston was clean bowled by Calloway and Duggan run out by James Cheek. Daniel Wimble was then caught by Edwards off the bowling of Bartlett.
There then followed a 102-run partnership between Fraser Hay (62) and Joe Kooner-Evans (40), which ended when Hay was bowled by Ross Whyte with Rob Snell taking the wicket of Kooner-Evans. Carlin Joy scored an unbeaten 25 but ran out of partners as Daini and Warner were bowled for ducks by Whyte and McArdle also dismissed without troubling the scorers by Snell.
Ross Whyte (3-33) was the pick of the Ventnor bowlers with Rob Snell (2-47) taking a brace.
Ventnor surpassed the Portsmouth total thanks to a match winning 5th wicket partnership between Ross Whyte (53 not out) and Henry Edwards (83 in 50 balls), which took the score from 99-4 to 217-5, leaving the tail requiring just 26 runs for victory.

In Hampshire Division 1, Ryde suffered a 5-wicket defeat at the hands of Basingstoke and North Hants 2nds.
Ryde lost the toss and were put into bat, putting on 206 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Captain Ash Goldsmith top scored for Ryde with an unbeaten 53. Opener Tom Durman was the 2nd highest scorer, making 47 runs before being caught by Vinn off the bowling of Sharma.
Basingstoke beat the Ryde total with 6 overs to spare. Opener Harith Jayakody made 73 runs before being bowled by Tom Durman; Dean Nurse was the 2nd highest scorer with 49 runs before being bowled by Julion Jayerajah.
Durman was the pick of the Ryde bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 49 runs.

Shanklin & Godshill suffered a crushing 7-wicket defeat to Totton & Eling at Westhill.

Shanklin were skittled out for just 104 runs in the 37th over. Le Seuer put on the most resistance for Shanklin with a knock of 24 before being bowled by Leamon off the bowling of Beer,
Totton surpassed the Shanklin total in the 27th over for the loss of just 3 wickets. Azeem Hamid top-scored for the visitors, making 50 before being bowled by Callum Wright. Charlie Bedford (33) had the 2nd-highest knock before being caught by Ringer off the bowling off White. Le Seuer was the other wicket taker for the home side, trapping captain Dan Collier lbw for 5 runs.
