Kyle Hughes, Ben Hopwood, Gary Cottham and Paul Starke will carry the Wightlink Islanders colours into battle at Stoke this coming Sunday (3pm) as they bid to win the National League Fours title.
It’s certainly going to be tough for them to do that though with all eight clubs similarly sending quartets to the Potteries with their own aspirations to take the title on the 312 metre circuit.
The eight teams are split into two groups for the eight heat semi-finals with a further eight heat final following for the top two finishers in each semi.
The Wightlink Islanders have been drawn in semi-final A against home club Stoke, Dudley and Rye House whilst semi-final B will feature King’s Lynn, Mildenhall, Buxton, and Scunthorpe.
Looking forward to the event, Wightlink Islanders joint team manager Chris Hunt said, “It’ll be tough to finish in the top two in our semi but that’s our aim and if we do achieve that aim, the lads will be giving it their all in the final.”
