An Isle of Wight man is taking on the ride of a lifetime, tackling a gruelling 9,000-mile motorbike journey across Canada in support of local charity Daisy Chains.
Tony Delannoy has set off on the challenge as part of the GlobeBusters Trans Canada Motorcycle Expedition – a professionally organised and challenging 8-week adventure beginning in Montreal, heading east to Newfoundland, then looping west across the prairies, the Rockies, and finally reaching the Pacific Ocean.
The epic challenge is all in aid of Daisy Chains Isle of Wight, a much-loved charity that supports children with disabilities and their families through respite care and vital support services.
Tony has set himself a fundraising target of £5,000, with the community already showing strong support. At the time of writing, £1,840 has been raised towards a £2,000 milestone goal, putting him well on the way to achieving his overall target.
He is now about half-way through the mammoth journey.
Speaking about the challenge, Tony said he hopes every mile will help shine a spotlight on the charity’s work:
“Daisy Chains create joy and comfort where it’s needed most. I want to give back — and I hope people will join me in making a difference.”
