Isle of Wight international cricketer Danny Briggs performed well with bat and ball to help Warwickshire win their first County Championship since 2012 by beating Somerset at Edgbaston on Friday (24th September).
County Championship Division 1: Warwickshire (22 points) beat Somerset (6 points) by 118 runs
In Warwickshire’s 1st innings, Danny scored a quick-fire 53 not out (including 3 sixes) off just 31 balls to ensure Warwickshire secured maximum batting points.
Briggs took 3 vital wickets in Somerset’s 1st innings, ending with figures of 3-77. Danny then picked up the scalp of opener Lammonby in their 2nd innings as Somerset were scuttled out for 154.
Former Carisbrooke High School student Danny, who began his career at Ventnor Cricket Club, was presented with his 1st team Warwickshire cap before the start of play.
