Former Carisbrooke High School student, Danny Briggs, was the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers on Friday, with figures of 3-58, as Lancashire were scuttled out for 241 in the second innings in the final domestic game of the 2021 season.
First, Danny had Croft caught by Bresnan in the 49th over. Then, Jones was beaten by Danny’s spin and caught lbw in the 63rd over. 3 overs later, a deceptive delivery by Briggs had Blatherwick stumped.
Warwickshire’s strong bowling performance ensured Warwickshire won the Bob Willis Trophy on the 5th day of the 5-day match, their 2nd major trophy victory in a week.
Lancashire had been restricted to 78 all out in their 1st innings, before Warwickshire scored a massive 518 in reply.
Earlier in the week, Danny spoke to the media about Warwickshire lifting the County Championship title.
