Young people aged 16-18 are invited to visit their local Island Futures drop-in to talk about their future options.
If they’ve recently left school and do not have plans for education or training in September, or are currently not in education, employment or training, then the free and friendly drop-in sessions can help with:
• support to develop employability skills, including CV writing skills, interview skills and application support;
• advice and support on the full range of opportunities available, including college, apprenticeships, traineeships, supported internships and employment;
• further ongoing personalised 1-to-1 support to help secure education, employment or training.
Friendly Island Futures team, who are part of children’s services, provide a judgement-free, safe environment where young people can express and explore their passions and discover their potential.
Island Futures drop-ins are taking place at:
• Newport Library — Tuesdays between 14:00 and 16:00
• Ryde Library — Wednesdays between 14:00 and 16:00
• Sandown Library — Thursdays between 10.30 and 12.30 on the following dates: 27th July, 17th August, 7th September, 28th September and 19th October.
Councillor Debbie Andre, Cabinet member for children’s services, education and lifelong skills, said:
“Finishing your exams and leaving school can be quite daunting. You may not be sure what options are available to you as you step out towards your future and that’s where our expert team can help.”
“It’s independent, confidential and judgement free. It’s a chance to talk about what inspires you, the best pathways for you to enter the workplace and how to set and achieve your life goals and aspirations.”
“Our team can help you to choose the right pathway for you. So do take that first step and come along and have a chat with the team this summer.”

Usual PC imagery one sees now
Usual IE gammonry one sees now.
Just because I’m red and watch the Daily Mail doesn’t mean I’m gammon!
I’m gammon because I want the Tories to finish brexit and get these none whites out! I’m fed up with this PC stuff.
You are gammon because you are poorly educated, borderline illiterate and gullible.
no wilbur – you are the gullible one – who is being mugged off, by all these economic spongers turning up on dinghy’s – who stopped being at risk the day they left the country they were allegedly at risk in.
don’t see much protesting at the lack of diversity in african governments and countries
usual anti white, pc woke idiot that we see on the IE now
Whilst you likely have one or more in the family, as many have a buggy full now yet oft the father is absent, there is no need to be offensive to those who see things differently from you.
Even our PC Government is now seeing the error of allowing in all and sundry and the post was correctly made by catch22 mentioning the prolific showing of the minority in every chance the media now get to force ‘diversity’ down our throats.
Political brainwashing was seen to be very wrong if erring to the ‘right’ but now’ it is veered way to left causing resentment from the MAJORITY of indigenous people.
PS the otherpost was NOT from Catch22 but yourself, as you are trying to get the such banned.
Whilst I fully agree that many of the males arriving are causing vast amounts of cost, violence, and sexual crime against our own people, the woman are not normally so aggressive.
I have to admit however that if it were Germans, French, Greek or many other Europeans arriving, then the problems would be far less for our long suffering people whose tolerance can wear thin.
Sorry Catch22, you DO have a point.
exactly catch22 – the imagery should reflect the majority, which is 97% white on the island. If they wish for their centre to succeed, then they must make it appeal to the majority or it won’t
(Their future isn’t on the Island)
I must admit that wherever they do settle en-masse overcrowding, crime and misery tends to follow, wherever around the globe, but modern thinking is to give even more and hope they will become decent citizens, yet so far, it does indeed, in many cases seem to be failing.
Hope is all we have sometimes though.
Can’t work out whether you are all winding each other up or some actually mean what they are writing. Either way, it doesn’t matter because the world has moved on. Drag your knuckles off the floor and just be nice to each other.
please tell that to the african governments and people when they refuse to allow whites in the government
What you may not realise is someone else, likely Wilbur has copied my username to post DELIBERATELY racist posts, presumably in an attempt to get me banned or to discredit my VALID points by turning them into race hate which I am not.
