Home Instead Isle of Wight has received an overall Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) during its first comprehensive inspection since opening in 2019.
The rating of Outstanding is only awarded to the highest quality services with around 3% of providers nationally given the title.
Caregivers at the home care company were described in the report as ‘wonderful’ and ‘extremely kind’ by clients and their families. The CQC praised the company’s care and management teams based on feedback from clients, their families or representatives and external health professionals.
The report highlighted how there was a strong, visible person-centred culture and described how going the extra mile is part of everyday service and not a rare favour. Feedback from people using the service was that they saw a small group of regular staff which they appreciated.
People supported by the service felt truly respected and valued as individuals whilst being empowered to be partners in their care by an exceptional and distinctive service, the report went on to add.
Home Instead Isle of Wight’s management team were also recognised for outstanding support and an external health professional shared.
Also recognised within the report was Home Instead Isle of Wight’s mission of ‘To Us It’s Personal’ and commitment to not only its clients but also the local community through its annual ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ campaign. This emphasised their commitment to providing outstanding support for ageing adults who choose to live in their own homes.
Dee Oswald, Owner of Home Instead Isle of Wight said:
“To achieve an Outstanding rating is an absolute honour. Our caregivers and office team have been delivering a high-quality service since pre-pandemic but also maintained those standards for our wonderful clients throughout COVID-19. It is important to us to treat our caregivers as the social care professionals they are and with this in mind, we are thankful to have a low turnover of staff, ensuring our clients have familiar faces but also our caregivers are happy and content within their roles.”
Abigail Wheeler, Registered Manager said:
“To achieve good during a routine inspection from CQC would be highly regarded during the last two years. However, for our care and office team to achieve Outstanding with such wonderful feedback shares our true commitment to providing an outstanding care service.
“We are looking forward to continuing to provide a high-quality service to Island residents who choose to remain in the comfort of their own home, providing a different type of social care service – focusing on companionship led care, in whichever way is required by our clients”.
Hi just to say WELL Done and congratulations.
