Investigations are underway this afternoon into a fire on board a yacht in the Solent.
Fire crews from Newport were called to Trinity Landing in Cowes after receiving reports from Solent Coastguard that a fire had ignited in the engine compartment of ‘Clipper Venture Two’.
Thankfully, an on-board extinguisher system dowsed the flames and prevented any damage to the yacht, which was escorted to Trinity Landing by Cowes’ Harbour Master.
12 persons on board escaped injury.
