A Shanklin family has been left shaken after an intoxicated male entered their home and was found in the doorway of a teenage girl’s bedroom.
The incident is said to have happened during the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday), at around 03:00, at a property on Whitecross Lane.
It’s claimed the family were woken by their dogs barking and growling before discovering an unknown male standing in a bedroom doorway.
The homeowner said the man appeared intoxicated but had managed to scale fences and make his way through doors and obstacles before entering the property. The male was seemingly undeterred by the presence of 2 barking dogs.
It has been suggested that there may have been parties taking place nearby.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed officers attended the address on Tuesday morning following reports of a burglary, but that the male suspect had fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
Enquiries are ongoing at this time.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting 44260209790.
