Bembridge RNLI went to the aid a 20ft sailing boat that had ran aground off Swains Beach earlier this evening (Wednesday).
The inshore lifeboat ‘Norman Harvey’ launched at 20:20 at the request of Solent Coastguard to locate and assist a 20ft sailing boat which had reported as being aground.
The boat, with 1 person onboard, was quickly located at Swains Beach and successfully towed into deeper water. Having ascertained that the skipper was uninjured and that the boat was not leaking, she was towed into Bembridge Harbour and moored on the Visitors Pontoon.
The ILB returned back to Lane End and was recovered by 21:20.
