INJURED WOMAN RESCUED FROM COASTAL PATH

UPDATED: HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have rushed to the aid of an injured woman in Bembridge this morning (Wednesday).

At around 09:40 paramedics were alerted to the plight of the female who has fallen on the coastal path near Black Rock, injuring her leg.

Due to the remote location of the casualty the assistance of Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team was requested and Coastguard officers – with the assistance of staff from nearby Kingswood Centre – have now stretchered the lady to safety.

She is to be conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.

UPDATE @ 11:20 – The casualty has been transferred into an awaiting ambulance and is em-route to hospital.

HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have now stood down from the incident.
