Police on the Isle of Wight have released a CCTV image of a man wanted in relation to the theft of a safe from The Fountain Hotel in Cowes during the early hours of Sunday morning.
At sometime between 03:45 and 04:30 on the 20th March the hooded male forced his way into The Fountain on the High Street, Cowes before stealing a safe and a large amount of cash. He was then seen walking away from the premises with what is believed to be the safe in a backpack.
Officers yesterday (Monday) spent several hours searching fields, hedges and rivers on the outskirts of Cowes.
Anyone who recognises the man, or makes a discovery related to the theft is asked to contact Newport CID on 101, quoting 44160110639. Information can be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
