Hovertravel has announced the addition of new late Sunday evening flights to its timetable for the Isle of Wight Festival weekend.
For the first time ever, festival-goers can enjoy extended service on Sunday 21st June, with 3 additional return crossings from Ryde at 22:45, 23:15 and 23:45 from Ryde.
These extra flights mean that festival attendees heading back to the mainland can now stay later and still catch the quickest way home after the final acts, with each hovercraft crossing taking just 10 minutes between Ryde and Southsea.
Loretta Lale, Head of Marketing at Hovertravel, said:
“We’ve listened closely to our customers, and it was clear that many wanted the option to return to the mainland later on Sunday night after the festival. These new late flights are an exciting first for Hovertravel and give festival-goers more flexibility, convenience and peace of mind for their journey home.”
Tickets for the late flights can be booked via the Hovertravel website. Early booking is recommended, as services are expected to be popular.
Great idea, the son can leave his vehicle in Pompey
for a few nights and travel home from the festival
on the sunday night.
It will beat paying the extortionate car ferry charges
during the festival period.
