Members of the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital once again took on the role of Santa over Christmas, delivering several hundred gifts of sweets to patients and staff.
Due to COVID restrictions, there was no individual handing out of the gifts; instead, each ward received a bag of items for staff to then carry out the final distribution.
Lesley Myland, Chairman of the Friends, says:
“It is important we should still demonstrate in some small way that we care about the patients and staff in hospital over Christmas.
“It’s just another service our charity likes to provide, in addition to running retail outlets and buying much needed medical equipment.”
