fireA horse has sadly died today after becoming stuck in a bog of mud in East Cowes. 

Two fire crews including the specialist water and animal rescue unit from Newport raced to the scene at Alverstone Road after receiving the 999 call from the horses owner shortly after 10:45 this morning.

Despite the battling effort of firefighters, the horse’s life could not be saved.

(Island Echo received a report of an incident occurring in East Cowes at 11:09 this morning, however no information was available regarding this incident.
