The match of the week in Division One was a close-fought encounter between Shanklin Warriors and Newport Vics A.
The player of the match was Shanklin’s Don Hobbs, who won all 3 of his games and teamed up with Michael Bulpitt for the deciding doubles, with the score lying at 5-4 to Newport. An exciting 5-set tussle ensued against Anna Joyce and Dave Hilliam, with the game being decided in the final set with a victory for Shanklin by 20 points to 18, and the match ended in a draw.

Division 2
Ryde Rangers had a decisive win over Newport Vics C this week, with the Rangers Alan Burch in particularly good form, winning all three, despite being taken to 5 sets by Newport’s Sam Pascoe and Paul Lewis. Burch played with teammate Alan Dennis to take the doubles in 4 sets, and the match ended 7-3 for the Rangers.
Ryde Relatives drew with Ryde Rockets, ending in a doubles win for the junior players Joseph and Ethan Millward of the Relatives.
Newport Vics B head the table with Ryde Rascals 8 points behind.

Division 3
The 2 new teams to the league this season, Ryde Apprentices and Ryde Frogs, met in an exciting match, with the game ending in a draw after the Frogs took the doubles in 5 sets.
Both Shorwell teams were in action but with contrasting fortunes, as the Saints lost 8-2 to St Lawrence Lizards, whilst the Spinners won 9-1 against Ryde Retailers.
St Lawrence head the table, leading Ryde Rustics by 9 points.
