The national discount store Home Bargains is set to open on the Isle of Wight with the demolition of two existing retail units to make way for a brand new building.
The company, who turned over a whopping £1.27billion in 2014, are planning to open their first Island store in Carisbrooke, demolishing the former Argos building and British Heart Foundation building on Taylor Road to make way for a new 21,400 sq ft development.
The plans have been in development since the tail end of last year and will see a total of 90 car parking spaces created to accommodate the surge in shoppers.
Home Bargains will join the likes of Poundland, 99p stores and Poundstretcher in Newport. The nearest existing Home Bargains stores are in Waterlooville and Eastleigh.
