One of the Island’s oldest hotels is calling for Islanders to get behind their bid to have an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) installed in Ventnor.

The Royal Hotel, founded in 1832, has taken to Facebook this evening to thank their ‘Loyal Royals’ that have got behind and supported their plans of installing a defibrillator on the grounds.

So far (Saturday 1st September), the hotel has raised a staggering £1,041.85 from the publics generosity alone.

The target is to be able to reach £1,600 as soon as possible so that they can have the equipment installed by November 2018.

A spokesperson from the Hotel said on Facebook:

Thank you to all of our ‘Loyal Royals’ that are getting behind us to raise money for our defibrillator.

We have been overwhelmed by the response so far with a current total raised of £1041.85.

Our target is to reach £1600.00 and for the equipment to be installed by November so please keep donating, even if it’s adding some small change to our donation box on your next visit.
