UPDATED: A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for tomorrow (Tuesday) with outbreaks of rain – which could be heavy at times – and a risk of thunder expected.
Outbreaks of rain developing over parts of the South early on Tuesday are expected to become heavier and more widespread through the course of the day. In particular, during the late morning and afternoon, some heavy rain is likely at times, ccompanied by thunder
Forecasters say there is a risk of local accumulations in excess of 20 or 30 mm with possible localised surface water flooding.
The warning is in place from 09:00 until 22:00.
UPDATE TUESDAY – The Met Office have extended the weather warning until 09:00 Wednesday morning.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY – Further heavy showers will occur across some central and southern parts of England today. Some of these showers will become slow moving, with hail and thunder possible.
The weather warning remains in place until 22:00 tonight.
