The Met Office are warning of heavy and possibly even thundery showers or some longer spells of rain across the Isle of Wight today (Friday).
A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued and is in force from 12:00 until 20:00 this evening. There are already some areas of rain and showers across southern areas, but as temperatures increase this morning these are likely to become heavy in places, with localised downpours possible.
Furthermore, as on recent days, the showers may well organise themselves into slow-moving bands of heavy rain, which may produce 20 to 30 mm of rain over 2 or 3 hours.
There is a possibility of local surface water flooding.
