Gritters will once again be treating the Island’s road network due to the forecast temperatures, with -1c expected on the Isle of Wight overnight.
Island Roads has confirmed that its fleet will be deployed from the Stag Lane depot at 19:00 this evening (New Year’s Eve).
Yesterday, gritters were deployed in the middle of the day as a shroud of fog meant the mercury struggled to rise above freezing.
A spokesperson for Island Roads has said:
“Please take additional care wherever you are on the network”.
